Next.js | React | Tailwind | OpenAI | Vercel | Computer-Vision | Picture Segmentation | SegmentBody | IP-Adapter

App created for the 2025 QHacks Hackathon that takes in images of food, and tries to help manage blood sugar level of diabetics by estimating its glycemic index. MyBetes uses computer vision to analyze photos of meals and estimate their glycemic index (GI), which is a key factor in managing blood sugar. Once the meal’s GI is classified as low, moderate, or high, the app provides tailored advice for meal adjustments. For higher GI meals, the suggestions are more proactive, while lower GI meals get minor tweaks. Additionally, MyBetes includes a built-in assistant, powered by ChatGPT, that helps users with further insight and specific queries.

Made as a submission to social studies class in high school about the history of asian discrimination in Canada, this was my first project I made of coding. Created as a platforming game where you are a time travelling explorer, exploring different eras of Canada. While I had made other smaller things (websites, few lines of Python code, etc.) this really cemented my love for coding and made me see it as a means to express myself and get work done. Most assets were done by my friend, Abigail.
